About

We are a non-profit organization which supports youth and their families who have endured grief or traumatic loss and we connect them with amazing individuals who embrace, heal, commune and build with them.

Our counselors will align youth with the networks and resources needed, to not only get through the first couple of days and weeks after a traumatic event, but their life thereafter.  Using our proven models, we also equip the youth, their families and their support networks with the coping and resiliency skills they need to thrive.

In addition, our workshops, camps and special events provide a safe haven and outlet for youth to express and process their grief.  For example, our annual camp, The Little Survivors Mini Camp, shows campers how to conquer their grief and "win at life" through empowering programs through literacy, the arts, self-care, fitness and outdoor exploration. Little Survivors Summer Camp

The curricula for The Little Survivors Mini Camp is based on the children’s book titled, Asa’s Little Army of Survivors. The book was written by Jennifer Grace Jennings, as a way to explain to her young son the absence of his father, who passed away suddenly by gun violence. The book's main lesson is that one can overcome great tragedy and still become great, just as long as you have an army of "supporters," "fighters" and fellow "survivors."

Jennifer also experienced the loss of a parent at the young age of 19 when her mom, Rebecca Jennings, suddenly passed away.  Overnight, Jennifer was forced to become an adult.  She not only had to learn to fend for herself with little support, but she also became the mother, provider and legal guardian of her two younger siblings. Inspired by her own trauma and her son's trauma, Jennifer founded Rebecca's Little Survivor Foundation  to make sure no child has to endure grief or loss alone and without resources.  Jennifer  named the organization in honor of her mother who spent her entire life serving others and working in underprivileged communities.

As of 2020, Rebecca's Little Survivors Foundation has served over 2,000+ youth, between the ages of 2 - 21 years old, in the United States, Nigeria, Angola, France and Cuba and is still growing strong!
